NYCDOE Vision for Science Education

Every New York City Public School student will have a meaningful, rigorous, standards-aligned education that allows them to develop identities as scientists who investigate, create models, solve problems and develop explanations to make sense of the world around them.

Students at PS129 each participate in Computer Science before they move on to middle school to ..."ensure that by the end of 12th grade, all students possess sufficient knowledge of science and engineering to engage in public discussion on related issues, and have the skills to enter careers of their choice, including (but not limited to) careers in science, engineering, and technology.” (NRC Framework, page 1)
